Homes by Kimberly of Nanoose Bay is a silver finalist in the best single-family custom home over 3,000 square feet category for a project they completed on Medd Road.
Co-founder Laurel Lambert said she is pleased to be nominated again for a CARE award. The company was a silver finalist twice last year and has won three gold awards in past years.
The nominated home has a Mediterranean feel with a tile and stucco exterior and a small pond in the front, Lambert said.
"All our projects are special but this one had a real feel to it," Lambert said.
The building envelope made the home a tricky project, Lambert said. The waterfront lot has a road along one side and a dog leg in front and only had 15 metres of building envelope in the back to fit the 3,500 square foot home.
The key to building the perfect home is to suit it to the clients' tastes and meet their needs, Lambert said.
"You do need to be able to see through people's eyes and pick the plan that's just right for them," she said.
